PASS/FAIL
You have 2 chances at both quizzes to get it correct, in the rare event you fail both turns you can re-sit the theory and test components for FREE another day

If you don’t have a NSW boat licence or higher, you will need to complete the Boat & PWC licence training course for more information.
If you have a NSW boat licence you may sit the PWC (Jet Ski) upgrade course -

THEORY LOCATION
This training gives you everything you need to learn in a 100% practical & visual way out on the water 1on1 or small group with the trainer. NO CLASSROOM, Get access to our educational video resources for a well-rounded educational experience you can keep with you for life.
YOU WILL LEAVE WITH – LICENCE APPLICATION WITH PRACTICAL COMPONENT TICKED OFF. Just take it to Service NSW to COMPLETE THE TEST(S) YOURSELF & collect your licence. -
EXAM
If you conduct the training this way, you will need to book in at Service NSW to complete the tests yourself.
After any course completed with us, once passed, you will receive a completed application form to present to RMS / NSW Service Centre stating what components you completed with us.
About the logbook / boat practical components
There are 2 ways to complete your logbook/boat practical component:
- PRACTICAL TRAINING Do 1 trip on board our training vessel. This course runs for approximately 1.5 hours and will fulfil your practical training requirements to get a boat licence.
- LOGBOOK Do 3 trips with a friend who has held their General Boat Licence for at least 3 years and complete the activities listed. The logbook is activity based (not based on hours).
About the exam
- 50 multiple choice questions
- First 30 questions must have 24 correct answers
- Next 20 questions must answer all correct
- If you fail the first attempt a second attempt may be made immediately
- If you fail the second attempt you may re-sit at a later date at any of our training centres at no extra charge. You can also attend any of our seminars at no cost if you feel you need further training.

CANCELLATION POLICY: 10 days cancellation notice for full refund.
RESCHEDULES POLICY: 48 Hours notice or longer if you want to change the date, maximum 2 reschedules.
Less than 48-hours notices, 50% of your course cost is NON-REFUNDABLE.
Less than 24 hours notice 100% of your course cost is NON-REFUNDABLE.
Please note that the NSW FITC Complaints and Appeals policy is available in our Student Handbook. Page 20 refers to our complaints policy and page 37 contains our Complaints and Appeals form. Contacting NSW Roads and Maritime is another way of making a complaint.
NSW FITC will liaise with sensitivity to the needs of vulnerable applicants, such as individuals who are not fluent in English or have an intellectual or physical disability.
