Different types of jet ski hire companies along the east coast of Australia
There are a variety of jet ski hire options all over the world and for most of these places
No licence is required for jet ski hire.
In Thailand or other Asian Countries, you can jump on and drive how you want around a small island or off a beach for a period of 30 or 60 minutes for around $120 AUD
In Australia the jet skis are governed by AMSA requirements and standards meaning they are better regulated here & some commercial jet ski hire operators have non-licenced jet ski hire options available which basically means no licence is required for you to drive / operate the jet ski under their supervision & rental agreement.
In Noosa QLD we had the option of hiring a jet ski for 90 minutes for $280 on a ocean ride where the guide took us through breaking waves to ride free in the ocean staying within sight.
In Gold Coast QLD we drove 20km from point A to point B & back for 90 minutes for $250 in a straight line following a que of other jet ski riders after a video safety briefing. No PWC licence required
In Port Stephens NSW you can hire a jet ski in a area larger than 2 football fields for 30 minutes for $140. No licence required.
In Hawksbury River, Brooklyn marina, jet ski safaris NSW have a trial no licence required operation where you follow the leader keeping 100-200m behind each other and pay up to $399 for 2.5 hours on a standard Sea doo for a tour of the river.
In Sydney NSW – At Play hard jet ski hire, you can hire a variety of jet skis starting from $140 1 hour up to $550 for a whole day on the entry level Sea doo GTI 130hp from Brighton-le-sands.
Other jet skis range up to the Seadoo WAKE PRO 230hp OR the brand new RXT-X RS 300hp with kick ass Bluetooth speakers for an experience like no other operator provides on the water.
After an in-depth safety brief, you can self-explore the beautiful beaches, rivers and swimming areas of Botany Bay & Georges River at your own pace & unsupervised.
PWC / Jet ski licence is required. This can be obtained from Play Hard Jet Ski Hire from $119 – $370.
You can hire a new model Sea doo GTI 130, GTR 230 or a GTR-X 230.
- This is also the only place in Australia that has supercharged jet ski hire & lets you take them out to ride them.
- However, a PWC licence / Jet ski licence is required.
- The jet ski licence course is all done in 1 day & includes, practical training, theory & all exams.
